Launch Of Trump's 'Truth Social' Delayed Again Until March

The New York Times claims that US former President Trump's impending social network, Truth Social, has been put back to March, despite the app's current "anticipated" February 21st debut date.

Truth Social appears to be very similar to Trump's preferred social network, Twitter, based on screenshots on the App Store link.

Donald Trump Twitter Ban

Trump was permanently banned from Twitter following the riots at the US Capitol on January 6th. To try and create something new, Truth Social will be his second attempt. His first attempt, a blog, failed after less than a month. Former Rep. Devin Nunes heads the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), which is developing the new app.

500 BETA TESTERS HAVE JOINED TRUTH SOCIAL

It is possible the app's release date has been pushed back, but it has already been made available to some 500 beta testers, according to Reuters. It's possible that the SEC's investigation of the SPAC that plans to take TMTG public is also a factor in the delay.

However, it looks that Trump is a beta tester for Truth Social and that he has published his first post. Rather than a link to Trump's first Truth Social post, Donald Trump Jr., who still has Twitter access, posted a screenshot of it instead: "Be Prepared!'" You'll be seeing your favourite President in no time!

Truth Social

Truth Social had 317 followers as of Wednesday night, according to Reuters. At the time of his suspension, Trump had 88 million Twitter followers.

There was no quick response from TMTG on when the app would be released. However, you can join the Truth Social waiting list if you don't want to wait for the app to be released for non-iOS systems.
